- Haichao Wu of the Dan Schwartz Group is the winner of the College of Engineering and Applied Science鈥檚 2021 Outstanding Dissertation Award for 鈥淣anoparticle Tracking to Probe Transport in Porous Media.鈥 This award is a recognition of the quality and excellence of Wu鈥檚 research as well as his presentation of the dissertation.
- Juan Carlos Tiznado (PhDCivEngr鈥20) is the lead author on a new paper in the Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering that helps engineers better understand and predict the 鈥渓iquefaction鈥 hazard during earthquakes and more reliably mitigate it.

- Chern-Hooi Lim (PhDChemEngr鈥15) is the founder and CEO of New Iridium, a spinoff company created by research conducted in part in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. He was recently selected for C&EN鈥檚 Talented 12, a program that honors young chemists and chemical engineers who are bringing innovation and entrepreneurship to bear on pressing global issues.
- Sam Goodman (ChemEngr鈥16) was selected as one of two Outstanding Mentor Award winners for the Spring 2021 semester for his work with sophomore Abigail Hutabarat.

First as a student studying chemical and environmental engineering at 91福利社, to a stint at Intel, then as an expatriate living in Ireland, and finally as a winemaker at Apollini Vineyards in Oregon and for his own label, appropriately named La Randonn茅e Wines.
