Religious Studies Students Receive FLAS Fellowships for Arabic and Tibetan Language Study
Congratulations to four Masters students in Religious Studies who received the FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies) Fellowships this year!
FLAS awards for summer language study were awarded to:
- Andreas VanDenend听for Arabic language study in Fez, Morocco at the Arabic Language Institute听
- Eric Haynie听for Tibetan language study in Kathmandu at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute
- Ravenna Michalsen听also for Tibetan language study in Kathmandu at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute
A year-round FLAS was awarded to听Angela Maly听to fund her study of Arabic for the 2011-2012 academic year. Angela is currently studying Islam in the United States, focusing on the polemics surrounding the Park51 community center.
